Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does rug repair cost?

We give an individualized quote for every repair and restoration and can tailor options to fit most budgets. Inspections and estimates are free.

Can you fix moth damage?

Yes. We rebuild moth-damaged areas by reweaving and re-knotting, and we offer moth proofing to help protect the rug afterward.

Can you repair fringe and edges?

Yes. We add new fringe, refringe existing cotton, wool, and silk fringe, and rebuild edges with binding, serging, and overcasting.

Will the repair match my rug?

We repair rugs the way they were originally made, matching fibers such as cotton, silk, and wool, and we can color new fibers with 100% vegetable dyes we prepare in-house.

Do I need to bring the rug to you?

No. Pickup and delivery are free, including moving furniture, lifting heavy rugs (up to 400 lbs.), and taking tapestries down from walls.

Should the rug be cleaned before it is repaired?

Often, yes. We usually clean first so the repair can be matched to the rug’s true colors. See our rug cleaning process.
